St Joseph’s College Aka Collegium Sancti Joseph (CSJ) VOM is a premier Catholic Missionary School that offers comprehensive secondary education to boys. The motto is virtute et labore, which translates from Latin to English as ‘with courage and effort’ with the root words translating to English as ‘virtue’ and labour’. Established on 22nd February 1958.
The school is one among the oldest schools in Plateau State – Nigeria that has built a very strong name that is consistent with excellence in academics, championship in sports, and good moral character, at regional, national and international levels.
Sixty Six years after her establishment by the Society of African Missions (SMA) Catholic Priests from Ireland, the school is a reality of her vision which is a catholic institution and voluntary agency school that sets the pace in the formation of young distinct personalities with excellent moral and academic values that can integrate favourably into any society.
Owned by the Catholic Archdiocese of Jos with Archbishop Matthew Ishaya Audu serving as its current Proprietor, the incumbent Principal is Rev Fr Dr James Useni Aboren. Critical stakeholders in the running of the School are the Education Secretariat of the Catholic Archdiocese of Jos, Board of Governors, the VOM Old Boys Association (VOBA) and the Parent Teacher Association (PTA) which was established by VOBA in 1982.At sixty six years of age, CSJ VOM has graduated 5, 977 young boys from 61 Sets.
