In a significant step towards establishing a VOBA Cooperative Society, the report of the Steering Committee, led by Elder Wilson Monn Mancha (’90 Set) and accompanied by the Committee’s Secretary, Barr. Eric Goler (’07 Set), was formally presented.
While receiving the report, VOBA President, Mr. Eric Ganan Pam praised the Committee’s hard work and highlighted the importance of cooperatives in today’s world.
He noted that the timing for a VOBA Cooperative Society couldn’t be better, given the current financial challenges facing both the nation and the association.
He extended his gratitude not only to the Committee members present but also to those who, though absent, made significant sacrifices to contribute to the report.
Responding, Elder Wilson Monn Mancha expressed gratitude to the VOBA Executive Council for entrusting them with this responsibility.
He assured them of the Committee’s readiness to provide technical assistance in setting up the Cooperative Society, stating that if they could successfully establish cooperative societies at their workplaces, they are even more committed to helping VOBA thrive.
The Committee’s report included two key documents, one of which was the proposed Bye-Laws for the VOBA Cooperative Society.
After studying the documents, the National body is expected to set up a caretaker committee to kick start the Cooperative Society.
This initiative marks an important step towards empowering VOBA members and fostering financial stability within the association.
