VOM Old Boys Association is the umbrella body of all boys who schooled and/or graduated from CSJ Vom. Reputed as the most fraternal alumni association in this part of the country, the togetherness, unity and cooperation of members is second to none.
VOBA is one association that has remained consistent in her activities since it began in 1963 on the Campus of Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) Zaria. Today, VOBA is seen as the oldest alumni association in Plateau State and beyond, because of her age in association and consistency in programmes. Worthy of note is her vision which is to have an academic focus of the national life, reflecting social, economic, cultural and political aspirations of the people.
The association at creation, set out to kindle national interest in the hearts of youths in the newly independent Nigeria and free them from ignorance, superstition and indolence.
VOBA is created as a contribution to the realization, progress and development of the African Revolution. The growth of VOBA has been sporadic since inception and today the association is functional in 12 major cities/towns in Nigeria, 27 tertiary institutions, and the existence of a 39-year-old Wives’ Association with a national clout.
VOBA has rendered services to the society and her alma mater so much so that majority of interventions in the CSJ VOM today originated from VOBA, especially the Library which is named after VOBA’s 1st President, Engr Anacletus Tunkuda. VOBA today is a league of extraordinary gentlemen who are found in all positive field of human endeavour in all continents of the world. The positive field of human endeavour where no VOBA is found is the one that does not exist!
